Railing solution in a historic setting

At the Stockholm City Library, Webnet was installed on the exterior railings to provide the building with a discreet and secure solution.

In buildings designated as cultural heritage sites and those of cultural and historical value, any additions must be made with great respect for the original architecture. Wire mesh makes it possible to meet today’s safety requirements without altering the building’s character or the appearance of the facade.

Oxidized wire mesh with high transparency

The project utilized Webnet with an oxidized surface. The oxidation gives the wire mesh a dark tone that reflects minimal light and creates high transparency.

Its discreet design allows the wire mesh to blend seamlessly into the architecture, making it appear as a natural part of the railing rather than an afterthought.

A natural choice of material for cultural heritage projects

In recent years, stainless steel wire mesh has become the material of choice for many cultural heritage projects. Its combination of transparency, strength, and durability makes it a popular solution in settings where the architectural character must be preserved.

With minimal maintenance and a very subtle visual impact, buildings can meet today’s safety requirements without compromising their cultural and historical value.
